MET COAL PRODUCTION
Ramaco is an operator, developer, and producer of high-quality, low-cost metallurgical coal in central and southern West Virginia and southwestern Virginia.
Metallurgical coal is a crucial precursor in the creation of blast furnace steel, an essential element of industrial infrastructure. We have a long-lived development portfolio currently in three mine complexes and approximately 60 million tons of high-quality metallurgical coal reserves.
Safety is our top overriding priority at every Ramaco facility. We are proud to have been regularly honored by state and federal regulators, agencies, and mining associations for operational excellence and our commitment to the well-being of our workforce. This recognition has included three Sentinel of Safety Awards — the nation’s top honor for mine safety — as well as recognition from the West Virginia Coal Association, the West Virginia Office of Miner’s Health, Safety and Training and more.
Ramaco exports our premium metallurgic products to customers in approximately 20 countries across the world, as well as to North American customers. We are a reliable and efficient partner to metal manufacturers and work every day to produce our product with the highest levels of safety and responsibility.

West virginia
The Elk Creek Complex is located in Emmett, WV, and produces High-Vol A & B coal. The Berwind Complex is located near Berwind, WV, and produces Low and Mid Vol metallurgical coal. Our regional operations office is in Charleston, WV.
Virginia
The Knox Creek Complex is located in Raven, VA, and produces company Low and Mid Vol metallurgical coal. It has also processed and shipped coal for other third party operators.
Wyoming
Our permitted Brook Mine is located near Sheridan, WY, and has been determined by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory and independent geologists to contain a significant concentration of rare earth elements and critical minerals. Click here to learn more.
